Image Settings - Not Working

The image settings where you are supposed to be able to control the image sizes does not seem to be having any affect on my site.

There seems to be no change on my site if I change any of the values. For example, my category images are different sizes and are not being scaled down to what the image settings are set to.

Any ideas?

Issue resolved. These image settings will not work on webp images. Once I changed to a jpeg it works.

I also had to have a "maximum"window size".

Just a bit of advice for anyone working through image issues.

If you have image width and image height settings both set but your image is not in that ratio, it might show up adversely.

When working with the Hero image, it was set to 1250 by 500. All of my Hero images were 1250 wide but varied in height from 200 to 500 and anything that was not exactly 1250 x 500 wasn't showing properly and looks to be getting upsized to 500 height and wider than the image width setting so I would end up with a bloated but truncated hero image.

I changed this to just set the max width at 1250 and left the height empty and this resolved that issue.
