OSCNewbie2 Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Hi folks, it's the Newbie back again, running osCommerce v2.3.4 & PHP 5.4.45. Searched the forum for answers to this, cannot find anything that is current & applicable, most of the related posts are from 2014 or a lot earlier. And the old Addon that seemed to have some of this functionality in the past, (Mail manager?) cannot be found anywhere. To cut a long question short: Can anyone offer advice, links to manuals, YT videos or blogs, that can show me how to - 1) Divide our customers into various Groups, based on selected criteria (such as "customers who bought from us within the past 12 months", or "all customers who bought more than X amount of Dollars in the past 3 years", etc) 2) Then email those groups separately, from within osCommerce, with a newsletter tailored to that specific group. 3) Place a link in the Newsletter for the customer to click, which would be their agreement to opt-in for our monthly newsletter, even if they did so already, and 4) have their response recorded in their customer profile in the osCommerce customer database. I have a couple more questions related to this, but let's start with the above. (FYI we've found one current commercial Addon option ('Email Queue', developed by the Honorable Mr Jack who runs our hosting company) that can control the email sending rate, so that we don't exceed the 500 per-hour limit in any one hour. So we can figure out that part of the equation. But if there is a different Addon that manages the send rate, AND can also allow us to set up the other items we described above, then we'll look at that Addon also.) Any and all suggestions appreciated, thank you! Reminder: we are using v2.3.4 Quote
