The e-commerce.

Non-standard http port

Recommended Posts

 Hi,

My isp blocks inbound port 80 so I configured Apache to use a different port.

This works fine with other applications but not with OSCommerce.

When the user accesses my site his url looks something like this:

http://<my domain>:<my port>/catalog/index.php

The first page opens but no images show up (see below).

When the user clicks on a link, the url changes to something like:

http://<my domain>/catalog/<new page>

Note that the non-standard port gets dropped!

The result is that the browser times out and never gets the requested page.

I suspect the same thing happens with images on the main page (i.e. the images are requested from default port 80 rather than my non-standard port) and therefore they never appear.

Is this by design? Is there anything I can do about it?

Thanks, Ed
