PHP Gods Help!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I would like to remove the bar at the bottom of my screen. I really don't want the time and date or the visits since stuff. Where would I do that?

Also I would like to buy a pony but that has nothing to do with the website and I got off the subject.

Anyway back to the website, I would like to have a popup box that says 10% of all purchases go to charity, how would I do that?

I worship at the PHP feet of the PHP gods and ask for help.

Again I say that this site was premade for me, it was that way when I got the site, and what I asked was for someone to tell me how to change it. see above !!!!! Now if you would be so kind as to tell me where to change the script I would love to. I enjoy the site and I like the type of data base it is build in but since I asked for help changing it to the oscommerce why do you act as if I said something other than what I asked. Until someone tells me where to change it, since I cannot find it and I have looked, it can not be changed!!!!! Again I did not build the site, I am just trying to modify it. Since I do not mind giving credit where credit is due, are you going to help me change it?

The text is defined at catalog/includes/languages/

In the php files search

define('FOOTER_TEXT_BODY',

there is where the copyright by... and powered by...

change it to :

define('FOOTER_TEXT_BODY', 'Copyright © 2003 <a href="http://www.oscommerce.com" target="_blank">osCommerce</a><br>Powered by <a href="http://www.oscommerce.com" target="_blank">osCommerce</a>');

There is no need for this oscommerce site to show "powered by oscommerce", nor "copyright oscommerce" to receive help here.

"digi" - Yours is the type of attitude that scares people away. Lighten up, read the rules and move on.

Lachelle, first of all, I just wanted to point out that nothing in this post is intended to argue with anything that you have done. I am simply discussing the question of how much needs to change to remove the copyright notice (in response to Orphon's post). Feel free to ignore this, as my opinion is by no means official (otoh, if you get a polite email from one of the core team suggesting a change, you should take that seriously).

OSC 3 column layout with header, footer, and bracketing columns: check.

Stock navigation in header bar: check.

Stock footer bar text: check.

InfoBoxes: check.

Default names and placement of infoBoxes: mostly check.

What has changed? Background color for site and infoBoxes. Header images for site and infoBoxes. Header and footer bar colors. Categories box moved down in left column. Second info Box added.

This is a good example of how much the look can change without changing the stock layout, but it is still pretty much a stock layout. IMO, this is still close enough to stock that the copyright should be retained (although it could certainly be modified to say "Layout copyright osCommerce" underneath where Mountain Willow claims copyright for images and content). Note: the Powered by osCommerce does not substitute for the copyright notice.

Hth,

Matt
