Hi, This is my first attempt at installing any type of cart so please excuse my ignorance. I foud the installation guide @ wiki.osommerce... but what is the correct folder to install in? It says to upload catalog/admin to root. Would the ne folder "httpdocs"? I tried this and then went to mywebsite.com/install but I got the 404 page not found error. If anyone could provide some help to an extreme newbie at this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Bill

If you placed the "catalog" folder in your root directory, the correct path would be "www.yourserver.com/catalog/install. Not sure what you meant by the httpdocs - ?

Your root folder for your site should be httpdocs - your root folder would be where the index page of your website is located.

You want to put the catalog and admin folder in the httpdocs directory, and then type www.domainname.com/catalog/install to get the cart set up.

I'm online right now, if you want to IM via yahoo or msn - yahoo = flashyfem and MSN = [email protected]

Sorry I dont have yahoo or msn to IM. I did type in mysite.com/catalog/install and I got the installation page. I am going through it right now. The problem I'm having is with the database info. I just setup a database and I typed in the username, password etc but I'm unsure what the nameserver or IP address is. Any Ideas on this?

Thanks again for the help.
