The e-commerce.

single database restriction

Recommended Posts

Our reseller hosts gives us one mysql db with unlimited tables (Scary, huh?).

So we can't install OSCommerce more than once as new install will overwrite old as there is only one db.

Would it be possible to add a prefix to the tablenames to differientiate between the clients data? I gather this needs to be done in the install. Is this the right way to go about it or is there another way?

Any help/advice appreciated

Yes. Edit oscommerce.sql and change *all* the table names. It is recommended that you do this with your first store (and always edit from the original values). Otherwise, you will eventually miss a table and accidentally overwrite your store.
