New Products For ...

Recommended Posts

I realize "new products for" is based on the last entered product, but since I'm just building my catalog, some of the products showing are actually very old. Is there a way to rearrange this without reentering an item, then removing the first duplicate?

Hello Cheeky,

If you update the product you want to appear first they will appear at the top. eg you have products A, B, C, D, E, F, G they currently appear in that order but you want them in the following order F, C, B, E, G, A, D.

First update D

then A

then G

then E

then B

then C

lastly F

I must be really stupid today.

I just updated the product I want to appear first, and it's not anywhere on the main page at all.

No you're not stupid!

Go into catalog/includes/modules/new_products.php

and change all instances of

p.products_date_added

to

p.products_last_modified

There should be 2 instances, then upload the file

well missy that means you're not running MS1!!!! You must be on a newer version!

In that case go to catalog/products_new.php and change

order by p.products_date_added

to

order by p.products_last_modified

only one change needed in this file!!! :D

One itty bitty problem ...

If you look at "what's new" on the left hand side, it still shows one of the old products.

If I click on the little white arrow, the page shows the things I've modified ... but ... see the problem?
