nixoid Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 So... I just got a new webserver with a Linux/Apache configuration. Also installed was cPanel. Amoung the tools in cPanel was oscommerce. So I started to install it and test it and now see a bit of text thatr has me concerned. "This is a demonstration online-shop, any products purchased will not be delivered nor billed. Any information seen on these products are to be treated fictional. If you wish to download this sample shop, or to contribute to this project, please visit the support site. This shop is based on osCommerce 2.2-CVS." So what does this mean? Must I purchase the software? I thought it was opensource?
Guest Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 it just says that in YOUR CURRENT DEMO the products won't get shipped out heh ;)
nixoid Posted August 5, 2003 Author Posted August 5, 2003 . So what I need to do is go to the order confirm page [whichever thast is and change the text....Phew I'm glad I didn't waste the time to create a demo [if that is the case} and I won't have to reinstall.
chfields Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 Yes OScommerce is free(open source). That paragraph is just saying that the text and products in out of the box store is not live. You change the text and products to what ever you have.
nixoid Posted August 5, 2003 Author Posted August 5, 2003 Thanks ch... The second question you have helped me with. A good day to you
Guest Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 This documentation should help you http://wiki.oscommerce.com/Top The_Bear
