Site Map - How to Get Products in Alphabetical Order?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have no idea why the products list randomly under the categories and can't find where to reorder it:

How do I ensure the products all list A-Z under each category?

The sorting for the product listing page is controlled by the default sort order setting.

Thanks for trying to help.

I’ve already got this set to A-Z. I’ve also set each category/sub category also set to A-Z.

Nothing changes in Sitemap Display …

It looks so unprofessional and makes it hard for people to locate items.

Surely there must be a way.

Please note I have already tried the usual ways to try and update the site map widget but nothing works. In design the site map widget cannot be edited.

If you know where the sitemap widget is located then maybe I can find it and look at the code.

However none of the files I've checked seem to be it.

Can you give the shop structure where it will be?

Thanks,

Please note this specifically means the display under Site Map widget.

I apologize for missing this was for a specific page. I don't see a site map widget in the test shop I have here. is it a purchased app or named something other than sitemap?

No it’s a built widget.

The site map widget is in the menu list, so you can add it to the menu.

In theme you can also add/access it from the pages menu and widget menu.

Once you add it it produces a site map on the page where it is added. The problem as illustrated above is that there doesn’t seem to be anywhere you can order the product listing under the categories.

It looks unprofessional and makes it hard to locate items, defeating the purpose of a site map!

Any help to access the code to change and reorder this appreciated.

Dooohhhh!

I can see it in the menu but not in the widgets list. I've checked three sites and it is not there so that is baffling. But I think Ashley is correct and a code change will be needed for this. The change would be a simple one but I can't find the file handling the display. Maybe one of the oscommerce team will respond.

In theme go to Pages, under Information scroll down to find Site Map widget.

Yes if someone can guide me to the file in the shop to change order by A-Z please.

Otherwise it’s simply mental for a SITE MAP!
