Changing the header

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to remove the 3 logos from header.php and replace them with my 4 credit card logos .. without much luck .. since it's in php and not html.

Does anyone have any guidance how I can easily do this?

this is the code that places the images there

it's in ....../includes/header.php

<?php echo '<a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_ACCOUNT, '', 'SSL') . '">' . tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'header_account.gif', HEADER_TITLE_MY_ACCOUNT) . '</a>  <a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_SHOPPING_CART) . '">' . tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'header_cart.gif', HEADER_TITLE_CART_CONTENTS) . '</a>  <a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_CHECKOUT_SHIPPING, '', 'SSL') . '">' . tep_image(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'header_checkout.gif', HEADER_TITLE_CHECKOUT) . '</a>'; ?>

it's about line 58, if you get rid of that you can put anything you want there just dont forget the <TD> tags

Also remember to use correct image paths, so you don't run into ssl errors in the future.

This is what it should look like, you may also add more rows tables etc. if you have the need

    <td align="right" valign="bottom"> your html code </td>

/includes in which directory?

I keep changing files in the wrong directory, time and time again, then wondering why nothing shows up.

So I just insert my images in an html table? I'd better backup first, that much I can see

I ran into a problem but it's only because tables are not my forte. I commented out the 3 other images, that's fine. I put in my 4, and they show up, but there is considerable space between each one.

<td align="right" valign="bottom"><img src="/cart/images/icons/icon_visa.gif"> </td>

<td align="right" valign="bottom"><img src="/cart/images/icons/icon_mastercard.gif"> </td>

<td align="right" valign="bottom"><img src="/cart/images/icons/icon_amex.gif"> </td>

<td align="right" valign="bottom"><img src="/cart/images/icons/icon_discover.gif"> </td>

well right now they are spredding to the avaliable space try to put a with tag in place to limit that,,, eg.

<td align="right" width="your image + space" valign="bottom"><img src="/cart/images/icons/icon_visa.gif"> </td>

that should do the trick

The more you do, the more you learn

Hi Cheeky,

Try this instead

<td align="right" valign="bottom"><img src="/cart/images/icons/icon_visa.gif"><img src="/cart/images/icons/icon_mastercard.gif"><img src="/cart/images/icons/icon_amex.gif"><img src="/cart/images/icons/icon_discover.gif"></td>

They should line up next to each other without any spaces

Thanks .. but ... when I replaced the logo (you have the url of my cart so can go check it out) it sort of smooshed the credit card logos in the right places ....

If you check it, you will see some broken stuff, don't you dare laugh at me!
