Guest Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 I'm testing my cart and have entered an order but sales tax is not being added. The product Tax Class if "taxable goods" (I checked) Location/taxes tax rates Clearly says "Massachusetts, 5%" Location/taxes tax zones Clearly says "Massachusetts" What am I doing wrong?
Tomcat Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 Pam, Not 100% sure, but could be the setting in your application_top.php : define('DISPLAY_PRICE_WITH_TAX', false); st it to "true" if you want to display prices including tax Cheers Franco Outside links in signatures are not allowed!
Guest Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 Hm, thanks, I'll try that, but it's not that it won't display, it's that tax is not being included. I checked out of my cart myself and the total did not include tax. I just ran another test order and there was no tax added whatsoever
Tomcat Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 Then you have to work on the Admin side. It's not very straightforward, but you can get almost everything you need out of it Franco Outside links in signatures are not allowed!
Guest Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 That's what I figure, which is why I posted what I did in the admin area, hoping someone *puppy dog eyes* could steer me in the right direction
Tomcat Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 Since I'm old enaugh ( depending on point of views... ) I'd like to take a look at your site  Outside links in signatures are not allowed!
Guest Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 I'm trying to follow the Wiki directions, but it must be for another version than what I have. In admin, under Locations/Taxes, click on "Tax Zones" Click on the "new zone" button. In the Zone Name: input field I enter "CA" For Description I enter "California". Click on "insert" After you click insert, you will see CA show up in the list. You think you're done, but not quite! Click on the "CA" (or whatever name you have!) in the list and you will see the heading say "Geographical Zones / CA" Here you see a "new zone" button again. Click on it! Now you get to select a geographical zone. From Country, I Select United States Clicking on MA brings up NOTHING like "Geographical Zones" -- it brings up "edit" and "delete" ONLY.
Guest Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 And, in 'priority' it says 1, yet I can't find any documentation to explain what numbers are available and what each means
Guest Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 Set "display prices with tax" to true and tried to put in a bogus order in a non-tax state but every single price showing included tax
Draklor Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 Click Tax Zones Your state should come up with a yellow folder. You can either click that yellow folder, or click the details button. There should be one item, if it's anything like mine, it's set to florida. Click edit, and from the drop down menu choose your state. Hopefully this will fix your problem.
