I just installed apache server (ver 5) and oscommerce. I finally got to the install screen. Thats as far as I can go. When I click continue to accept the two check boxed items I just get sent back to the new installation screen.

Im really exited about this application and would like to get started on my online store.

Can someone help?

I am having a problem using the configure/install screen.

I have Apache 2.0, MySQL, and PHP 5, On Win2kSP4 set up and all working fine. However, I am unable to get osCommerce to work *at all.* It is frustrating.

I have set up a user account with all privileges granted, from any domain and from the local domain. I have created a database, with no tables, and am entering this account and database information when I get to the configuration screen.

However, all I am ever getting is an infinite loop of being thrown back to the first install screens of having to enter in the database information and user information as well. I cannot get past that. I would very much like to use this product, but I can't since I am not able to configure it at all.

What should I be looking for? There are no error messages being shown to me on the configuration screens. What else do I need to get set up?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Check to see which PHP version you have.

I was trying to use PHP 5, but decided to go to PHP 4.3.2. Now I can connect and finish the setup, however, I am not having the issues of

Warning: main(includes/languages/.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:InternetApacheGroupApache2htdocscatalogincludesapplication_top.php on line 285

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'includes/languages/.php' (include_path='.;c:php4pear') in D:InternetApacheGroupApache2htdocscatalogincludesapplication_top.php on line 285

I saw your post, re: won't someone reply.

I understand your frustration, really, when you're in a time crunch (we're trying to get ours up by Aug. 11th -- and you can see what date it is now!) I would suggest you keep in mind the mood of your posts and when you post too. People will get to you when they can.

That being said, I'll be nice and respond.

You do not mention what your configuration is at all. What operating system are you using? What version of MySQL? PHP?

There is no Apache version 5. Do you mean PHP5? Well, get rid of it.

I was having the same issues you were having, and if you're really anxious to get going, if you're using a windows machine, consider the following versions of webserver, php and mysql. I did an install with all three of them and now my only issue is getting SSL working. I have not gotten to that yet so I can't help you there.

Apache 1.3.2

MySQL 4.0.1b

PHP 4.3.2

OSCommerce 2.2M2.

Follow install directions closely and in the order listed above. I did that on a Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4 machine and I am able to go through the configuration of OSCommerce.

When you are on the screen of OSCommerce where it prompts you as to whether it should install the database and sample data, click the check mark so that it installs ALL of that information. It will create the tables it needs for the shopping cart and you can always go back and delete the sample data when you get to the administration menu.

Good luck! This was your one 'rudeness' freebie!

Thanks for the responses. I really think thats cool. I feel like a thing that comes from a BUM.

I am going to try to install php4 instead of php5. That seems to be the problem. I hope will let you know!

I know its frustrating!!

Thanks to all again.
