I am very new to php and need some help. I want to add my own Privacy Policy, Shipping & Return policy, Conditions of Use. How do I go about adding in my own text? I am very unfamiliar with php, so simple terms are needed. Which files do I modify? Where do I add in my own text. A sample file would be really helpful.

Still doesn't tell me how or where to put in the text.

Doesn't your file say something like 'Here is where you put your privacy policy."? My original copy does.

This line in the file doesn't give you a hint?

 

define('TEXT_INFORMATION', 'Put here your Privacy Notice information.');

 

If you look at the catalog page it says "Put here your Privacy Notice information. I think the two may be linked. :D So just delete where it says "'Put here your Privacy Notice information" in that define and change it to whatever you would like it to say. Just make sure you leave the ' before and after the text along with the );

Here is what my privacy.php file says. I do not see anywhere in there where it says "Put your privacy notice here". I don't know php, but I know I am not illiterate.

That is your privacy.php in your catalog root. You need to make the changes in catalog/includes/languages/english/privacy.php

 

The names are the same but the content is contained in the languages folder.

OK, seem to have gotten it now. FTP program was changing something as I was trying to read it.
