Unless you have regularly upgraded your shop to more recent versions of PHP over the years (or you are prepared to take a year off work for this project), this would be pretty much hopeless to try. Our original 2.2 MS2 shop (which predates even the 2.2 RC2 version) is running flawlessly under PHP 8.2. (in fact, you won't find any faster loading ecommerce shop on the web (under 1 sec load time on a shared server according to webpagetest.org )), but only because I upgraded the code with each new PHP version. The layout/design was changed a few times as well over the years, and I designed myself a separate mobile version a few years ago when Google required a mobile version.
