Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 ... put sizes into the checkout (i.e. - do they want a S,M,L,XL, etc.). I'm sure this is a standard piece, but I'm new and can't find it. ... add/change/subtract items from the catalog en masse. I've got 100+ "categories" that each have a different version of the same item, such as red vs. green, and would like to load the images and product descriptions quicker than the 1X1 manual way I do it now. :?
Daemonj Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 You want to take a look at Admin ~ Catalog ~ Product Attributes. "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence." - A. Einstein
Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Sorry - I really am a novice - then what? The products are listed in the product name drop-down, but nothing else is populated anywhere.
Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Create an Option Name of Size and Option Values of S, M, L, etc. Then you should be able to create the attribute at the bottom. Note that you have to create attributes for each product for each option value that you want to use with this product. Thus, if you have 10 products, each with four sizes, then you will need to make 40 attributes. Hth, Matt
Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Aha! That is quite laborous for what I'm doing. Is there an easier way - such as a similar naming convention or something?
Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 There is an attributes sorter and copier in the contributions area. If you upload your products with the Easy Populate contribution, you can manually set the attributes for one product and then copy to the rest. Good luck, Matt
Guest Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 This may sound like a dumb question, but where is the contributions section? I do not see that or the easy product upload function.
Guest Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 There's more to this site than just these forums. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions
