Guest Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 http://www.officeimprovement.com Please help by giving Feedback on: 1.)Color Selection 2.)Category/Product Photo Sizes 3.)Website Name (is it good or bad, even confusing?) 4.)Price Acceptability And take suggestions for improvments Thanks
Guest Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 The name is very, um, utilitarian, for want of a better term. I think you need something that conjures up an image of pampering yourself, something more evocative of quality. Colour is a nice, but you need to change the buttons to match. The breadcrumb bar doesn't match either. Didn't like the background though - prodcut images obscure most of it, so it looks bitty. Photo's are good, but bigger might be better. Or maybe add some to the header? Price seems ok to me, but I'm in the UK, so don't know the market there. Personally I'd pitch your products more on quality & individuality rather than price. hth
Hunkah Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Add some borders, remove the background and change some of the font colors so that they aren't so hard to see.
Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 so i will do the list 1.)border 2.)change background image I am not sure if the photos are good or bad... Is product image bad? or NO? and which "PHOTOS" are good? Thanks again
Hunkah Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 It is the background image that is bad. It makes everything hard to read. It clashes and is not at all that cool. Background images are not used very much because of that reason. They usually make sites look terrible or too busy. The eye has too much to look at and gets confused. When that happens to me I just leave the site.
Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 You have blue links on a blue background and red text on a blue background making it difficult to read. You also give a security warning when checking out, because you probably have images pointing to http instead of https
HyperJack Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Looks good. The blinking icons make it look too busy though. And the pictures only look good in the super large size.
Guest Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 I have made several modification, thanks for the inputs. Does any one has good suggestion for what color text matches blue background? I had red for "best sellers" just thought red would stand out more, i have looked at it in several monitors, they look okay, not GREAT... blue on blue was bad on several monitors, so I know I got to change it, in fact I was thinking of take out the categories link but instead, make them clickable tab-style menus, however, for now, anyone got suggestions for a good color that match blue-bg? I really want to keep things blue^^ again, any critism is appreciated... as far as the secure warning, I thought the warning is there because I was using shared certificates, or maybe not, is there a suggestion on how to change it? thanks again. ideas are welcome
xxGeek Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 Hi there, if you want to keep the blue, i would make it a bit lighter on the info boxes backround, and use like a navy around the borders add some greens and yellows to it. Text in my opinion should be black, as it easy to read. Where you see the red in your bestsellers, it really doesn't stand out, actually it's hard to read. You have a non secure image in your information box (paypal seal) I sugest you fix that, it tends to be a no no for a lot of people your image path is 'http://images.paypal.com/images/verification_seal.gif' just change the 'http://' to 'https://' that should fix it. The buttons will need replacing they really don't match the site. The more you do, the more you learn
