Selwyn Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 I experienced some problems after having done some tests with importing language files, and deleting these again. When starting catalog I got this message: Fatal error: Failed opening required 'includes/languages/.php' (include_path='') in /home/sites/site55/web/catalog/includes/application_top.php on line 285 and Admin: Fatal error: Failed opening required 'includes/languages/.php' (include_path='') in /home/sites/site55/web/catalog/admin/includes/application_top.php on line 130. So I couldn't access the application in any way. Therefore I deleted the /catalog folder completely, and did a new install without a recreation of the database. Everything went just fine, but when testing the installation at the end I still get the exact same error messages  There appears to be som remains of the first installation, otherwise I simply don't understand this. So I'm a little lost to say it mild, and hope for some help! Selwyn
Guest Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 Go into your database and look at the Table_Languages...is it empty?
Selwyn Posted July 29, 2003 Author Posted July 29, 2003 In fact I suspect that the language codes / names in the database somehow are corrupt. As I due to a special setup with my ISP, is unable to get access to the database via phpMyAdmin and also cannot get access via Admin, I have asked my ISP to reset the database. Then I will have to start from scratch. Not at very good start on osCommerce, but what a tremendous program it is ! I have been using Actinic (popular UK shopping cart) for some months now, and almost all the facilities that I have missed in Actinic are found in osCommerce. So I look forward to get started again. Thanks for your concern and assistance! Selwyn.
Selwyn Posted July 29, 2003 Author Posted July 29, 2003 YES - the system runs again :D But after the first change from English to German language, the screen formatting is completely lost    . This problem I have battled with all day. Firts I thought that maybe I had a defect css-file in the browser cashe, but having deleted temporary Internet files, the problem apparantly still exists. Is osCommmerce really so extremely unstable, or could it be an error in my browser / configuration ?? It really feels unsafe to invest time in developing a shop if formats can dissappear just changing the language ! Selwyn
Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 You might want to try investing in a different ISP. The current one doesn't seem to be that great. Database admin is practically a necessity. Shell access would be helpful. Good luck, Matt
