HEY BOARDIES! I NEED YOUR HELP HERE.

Hi. I was searching around the forums and I have a question for you. I know a tiny bit about how to use the internet but not about programming and stuff. I am an importer looking to create my ecommerce website online to sell my quantity products. You said at your main page that the program is user friendly but I see it is not. I can't go passed the downloading. I can't even open-run the "install" file because there is no file opener in my computer and I don't find an explanation anywhere but bunch of codes in these forums. What are the requirements to install this program? I have windows 98 (where I downloaded this program to) and was thinking to host my ecommerce website with any hosting company out there. I found some hosting services that host php, sql whatever those things are.

 

In this forum people are talking in codes and I don't understand anything. I don't understand anything as it seems to be programming language and stuff. Do I need to hire a computer expert to do the administration of my online ecommerce store or installing the program is difficult now and later will be easier for me? Do people running these ecommerce website have to have a programming knowledge or certain type of computer skill? You will laugh at me. Commerce is my world, not computers.

If you are not interested in managing your own server and php coding, you could post in the Seeking Commercial Help section for a host with osCommerce preinstalled or a developer to install it for you. You will need a server that is on all the time to run osCommerce properly.
