_SMOOTH_ Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 OK, I had a successful install I thought. I got to the last page where it had two buttons, admin tools and config. But when I click on those buttons a get this: Unable to connect to database server! : Has this happen to anyone else before? How can it connect during install and then not connect after the install is complete? I don't understand...can someone plz help me?
Quasi Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 I dont *know* if this is the answer cos I've not used the automatic setup routine before, but it sounds like the the database user, password, hostname, etc havent been setup in catalog/includes/configure.php and admin/includes/configure.php But Im just guessing really :) Rob Does this smell like chloroform to you?
_SMOOTH_ Posted July 28, 2003 Author Posted July 28, 2003 sry..i didn't get back in time to update my answer....i added one character space too many in the install process..so i changed it in the config.php file and then it worked. Now I have a new problem....I can get to my admin page sometimes..but none of the links work all the time. Like I can't get into configuration and catalog and those things..has that happened to anyone before?
