Hi,

struggling with OSC whole weekend and have some questions

- When I upload the Dutch language files to /includes/languages and add a new language through the CP I get an error in line 152 of the DEFINE_LANGUAGE.php and the image of the dutch flag doesn't show (neither in the CP)

What do I have to do?

- I've tried to setup apache2triad, but removed it . Actually I don't even know what to do with it. I'm working online to figure out OSC. Is there anyone or anything that can actually explains me (as if to a six year old - which I'm not!!) what it is for and how to work with it? Is this to work with the OSC files offline?????

-Does the admin folder has to be a subdirectory of the catalog directory or do they need to be on the same level?

That's it for now. Probably there'll be a million other questions to follow, so I allready apologize and thank the patience of the other visitors of this forum.

PS. I'm browsing the forums,guides,... for over a week now, and still....

It isn't because someone else knows the answer, means I'm dumb, or is it?

Apache2Triad is an installer for Apache/MySQL/PHP. It allows you to run osCommerce on your PC. You would generally do this for development purposes, so you didn't have to upload the files to the server with each modification and so that you could test and recode without breaking your live site.

No. The admin folder can be anywhere you want, so long as the web server can see it. The two places you named are the default places currently and in the old release.

Good luck,

Matt

P.S. I don't know much about language packs, so I didn't try to answer your first question. You may want to check to be sure that the files in it match those in the catalog and admin directories. Each .php file in the base catalog and admin directories should have a file with the same name in the Dutch language directory. If I were having your problem, I would try making blank files in the language directory for any that are missing. If there is a default.php in the language pack, rename it index.php to match the current release.
