How to redirect checkout

I'm new to oscommerce, and what I need to do is gather the cart details and pass them to an external checkout using a URL.

(I'm using ShareIt!, a software registration service to collect payments.).

 

Is there info/samples on how to intercept the checkout routine and gather the cart info?

 

I've not done much PHP programming, so please be gentle :-)
