Forum Search facility gone haywire!?!?

I don't know what the significance of this is but i've noticed the search facility on this forum is a little screwy!

For example i saw a post asking how to find the version of osc someone was using;

how could I know oscommerce version ? http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=202435

And this triggered my memory to two other similar posts I had answered in the recent past

How can you find out what version ocs your running? http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=51977

and.....

What Version am I running? http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=52371

So before I was about to get all pissy with the guy who had posted the question for the third time, in such a short time span, I decided to do a search using the following criteria;

version

Version

What version

etc etc

All came back with nothing!!! :?:

Am I missing something, i've tried changing the options in the search page to see if this would work but no luck!!!

So whats up with it!? Its no wonder we keep seeing the same questions being asked in these forums!

Is there a solution to this problem, im sure many people wouldnt be so frustrated if they actually had access to the wealth of knowledge on this forum.

:lol:

This is one of the reason for changing forum software (poor search capabilities) most of the time a search with only one word will give nothing as results,

Try searching with a few words and put * at the beginning and the end

Just wanted to post that I have the same problem. Searching for help on particular contribs is hit and miss at best. :?
