Whos online - same person two diff IPs at same time?

I just happen to be checking whos online. It seems this person was having trouble checking out because the who's online showed the error from the credit card.

 

Now the weird part is I have user tracking installed also. It showed the two people came in from yahoo using the exact same search string. It also showed two oscid's and then it had the same user name attached with two different IPs.

 

Is this normal?

 

Or is this person trying to pull a scam? I sent an email from the store asking if they are having a problem. It will be interesting to see if they respond.

Well I can't say for sure since knowing how the client is configured is virtually impossible, however one possibility is that they were using a proxy server to access your site and it switched to a different proxy mid-way through the session. I don't know how osCommerce or PHP handle this by default, but I imagine it would mess things up a bit...

 

Of course that doesn't mean that's what actually heppened in your case. Cheers!
