matpal Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 I cannot even download the program from this site to get started. I do, and then unzip it, and then when I go to click on the installation icon, the computer cannot reconize the file type, nor could it be found online. The directions for downloading are kind of sparse, so any help would be appreciated. Do I already have to have a hosting plan set up to download? What else should/do I need to just get started?
Guest Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 The program needs to be on a system that has php and mysql installed. Usually this is hosted. But you could install something like phptriad to get a web server with php and mysql install on your machine locally. But this is a web program / scripts for lack of better words not a computer program.
matpal Posted July 26, 2003 Author Posted July 26, 2003 That is what I thought, but I wanted to play around with it before I start the web hosting account so I can have the jist of it before the store is ready to open.
Guest Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 Then put phptriad or the like on your computer and you will be all set. It's also good to have for testing out changes after your site goes live anyway.
