Banner settings and issues

I know this is an old issue, and I see many posts about it. BANNERS WON'T SHOW UP ! . I try to make a big move away from CSCART. I read some "problems and issues" with OSCommerce that users are experiencing. I did start modifying the OsCommerce FREE template. When adding a banner, simple settings. Loved it. But Banners won't show up. Old issue but the latest OsCommerce have same issue?

1. Adding banners won't show up even on the HOME page. What did I do wrong? I tried to flush cache too.

2. The start and end days for the banner are not working. When added press SAVE. The date disappears.

I'd really like to move one storefront from CSCART to the OSCommerce platform, but is the work, buying add-ons, etc., worth it?

@tapioriusTo be clear, you have posted in the V4 support section. If that is the version you are using, click on edit for the banner widget that isn't showing and make sure there are images listed and that they are enabled.

Yes, I use V.4, the latest. All images are listed and enabled (Green button). I made several videos with Camtasia of very awkward popups that this cart "offered me" for no apparent reason. It reminds me of Win 95 when it came to the market. I did select the correct group where it should appear (home page). I looked at the template to see if something could help me further. Thank you for your suggestions. I use the hosting installed version of OsCommerce. I didn't install it on my server. My plan is quite simple. I am testing the cart to see if it gives me what I want. I am still between Opencart and Oscommerce - both have pros and cons, like any cart. I may have to install OSCommerce to my own server to see if those funny error popups and other things are gone.

@tapioriusI suggest you look at one of the included themes to see how they are handling the banners. Try adding one of your images to an existing banner to see if it shows up. Once that is working, you should be able to see a difference between that theme and yours.

As for using the oscommerce test server, you might want to ask one of the team members about that. I have never seen a video added anywhere but maybe it has to have with that account.
