aarslank Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 Hi, I have been having problems with my ssl certificate that I got from instantssl.com. Everytime I request a https page I get a security alert saying "the security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust..." Did anyone else run into the same problem? My host tried installing the keys and some other things that I am not very familiar with but it still does not work. Thanks for your help.

aarslank Posted July 25, 2003 Author Posted July 25, 2003 This is why my host people said they couldn't do it. You dont have a bundled 3 year cert. So I have to remove the ca file so itwill work on IE, it works on mozila and lynx. So when you buy one make sure you tell them Plesk server install and they will make you buy the bundled 2 or 3 year cert. Do you know anything about this? Thanks for your help.
Daemonj Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 Unfortunately not. All of my servers use cPanel and I am not familiar with Plesk. I would certainly ask them why you have to purchase a 2 or 3 year bundle for Plesk when it is not needed for cPanel (at least that I know of). Another option would be to see if your host could move you to a server that uses cPanel instead of Plesk. This is unlikely as most host's only use one type of control panel software. I would send instantssl letting them know the situation (you have a Plesk server and getting the security warning) and ask their idea for a resoltion. You may not need to get a 2 or 3 year bundle but just need something else. I hope that some of the above is of some help to you and I wish you the best of luck in resolving the situation.
