Guest Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 Hello All, Our store have gone LIVE for a while now and our customers have been sending us bugs and suggestions. (a lot more than we expected) So, in an effort to give our customers a better experience at our site, we're asking the oscommerce community to give us a hand and check out the site and give us any comments/suggestions/advice/improvements on the site. The URL is: http://www.animeforest.com All critics welcome! -Tony
Guest Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 A couple things off the top of my head: 1. For how long are people renting? This should be evident before they pay. Either on the product_info.php page or on the How Rentals Work page. Eventually, I came across this on the FAQ page, but if I had actually been shopping, I would have probably left by then. 2. No descriptions? How are people supposed to find things they might like but haven't seen? You also might want to look into a contribution that suggestive sells products that others have rented with the current product (or better yet with other DVDs that that person has rented in the past). If I find a link, I'll post back. Good luck, Matt
Strider Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 well lets see as the other person suggested you need to be a little more forthcoming on your verbage in how it works. your boxes are all disjointed .. to much space between them. your front graphic of 1 2 3 is almost 30k in size .. why? it should be 2k at the most your logo is in black, brown, green and white yet your site is in blue blue and blue get rid of the yellow highlights nice touch on the top banner area with the angle .. center your logo within the area it is in where are the breadcrumbs you really need to put info about the dvd in the detail description at least. It would also be nice to put it in the listing. In the description you need to put how long Look at how these people did their details http://www.animenation.com/col09055.html not the best but something to start with. anyway .. good luck (my knowledge is so small you would think that an ant was a genius in comparison)

Is there any kind of online manual available for oscommerce? in particular I want to configure the store layout - - i have my own store layouts and i want to have the functionality of oscommerce to runinside my layouts if you know what i mean? It would be great to hear back from ya. Cheers mate. Eric
♥monte22 Posted July 27, 2003 Posted July 27, 2003 I don't think you have too bad a setup, but I would definately add a better header image. The one you have now is quite boring. I would make something that spans the entire width and grabs people attention.
Guest Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Thanks for all the suggestions folks! We've taken them to heart and have gone ahead to address all of those issues. 1. The rental time is now added to the "How Rentals Work" page. 2. Descriptions are now in the process of getting added. We have more than a third added and will finish in the coming days. 3. We now have a person overseeing the image/colors/alignments of the site and will have a slightly adjusted page in the coming weeks. More suggestions and such, keep 'em coming! Thanks in advance, Tony
