putting stuff in the header

I keep trying to put stuff in the header and failing. It seems to abide by slightly different rules to everything else (?)

 

What I'm trying to do this time is to put the category/subcategory etc image in the header. I just copied and pasted the code over, but I get a dead image box. any ideas? Is there something extra I need to do for things in the header?

Hi the category image is 'plucked' from the database using one of several select statments which are found in the index.php or default.php (depending on version of osc).

 

Putting the image code in the header means that the code calls the image before the select can pull it from the database.

I guess I'll do it the other way around then - put the site logo in the pages and remove it from the header. more faff, but doable...
