Install prob cant find configure.php file???

Ok im trying to do a new install using 2.2 milestone 2

the connection to the database is fine but towards the end of the installation process im getting the following error message:

 

The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set.

 

Please perform the following actions:

 

cd /hsphere/local/home/ukmobile/4qmobiles.com/shop/catalog/includes/

touch configure.php

chmod 706 configure.php

 

cd /hsphere/local/home/ukmobile/4qmobiles.com/shop/catalog/admin/includes/

touch configure.php

chmod 706 configure.php

 

 

The thing is the file does exist and i have tried setting different permissions namely 706 and 777. but its acting like it isnt there??? anyone help me as im having all sorts of problems with another install of oscommerce which has led me to try a new install with a new version.

Help would be appreciated.

you have to chmod them both to 777 before installation

admin and catalog/includes/configure.php
