ninoj Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Thats the exact same problem I have... !! what to do?
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Its asking for a user name and password when I try to access a link in your admin, put in seems to direct to the correct page, but I cannot check fully as the directory is password protected. -Matt
jfenley Posted July 23, 2003 Author Posted July 23, 2003 the link is going to my webpage control panel not to mysql database.
ninoj Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 I have the same problem. After u open the admin panel for osCommerce, and click on any links, if fowards you to the ensim control panel and not the oscommerce one.
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 The reason for the redirect is because of the software used to protect your admin section. It doesnt affect the functionability of your shop does it? -Matt

Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 when you enter your username, password and domain does it direct you to the oscommerce control panel? -Matt
ninoj Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 no it takes me to the ensim webappliance control panel where i manage the domain itself
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 ok, you need to go into your hosting control panel and you need to remove the password protection on the admin directory and the protect it using .htaccess. -Matt
jfenley Posted July 23, 2003 Author Posted July 23, 2003 yes for I'm not able to administer the shop. I'm having that problem and also have ensim for a control panel.
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 As i told nino: ok, you need to go into your hosting control panel and you need to remove the password protection on the admin directory and the protect it using .htaccess. -Matt -Matt
jfenley Posted July 23, 2003 Author Posted July 23, 2003 i'm sorry but i'm a little lost. where do i switch the protection on the admin and what needs to be setup in the .hat*** file.
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Go into your ensim control panel and unprotect it so that it is not protected. (If you are unable to do this contact your hosting provder as it varies with host) Then install this contribution to protect the admin area: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1174 -Matt
jfenley Posted July 23, 2003 Author Posted July 23, 2003 directory is not protected, i have checked all the settings, is it possible that the configuration is setup up wrong.
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 No, I presume it was set up via one click setup in your control panal? If this is so then the control panel automatically protected the directory, you need to contact your hosting provider and ask them how to unprotect it if this is the case. -Matt
jfenley Posted July 23, 2003 Author Posted July 23, 2003 I go the admin page to work by editing the config file under admin, but now anyone can access the admin, how do i setup the admin for password protection. thanks
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Now install this contribution: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1174 -Matt
Guest Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 How did you stop it redirecting to your hosting control panel? -Matt
jfenley Posted July 23, 2003 Author Posted July 23, 2003 on this line i realized that is did not need the 'ocs/admin' to access the admin site define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', 'ocs/admin'); so i removed it like this define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', ''); then i put the full adress in for the catalog dirs http://www.texascomputersolutions.com/ocs/...log/default.php https://www.texascomputersolutions.com/ocs/...log/default.php thanks jfenley
