tswalling Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 Are you referring to where you can download osCommerce? oscommerce can run on pretty much any server that has mysql and php.
tcpinhead Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 Any of the downloads from the downloads link at the top of this page will work. I am developing on Mac osX and then uploading to my host and it works great. You will just need to install mysql and php on your mac. There is a mysql installer referenced on apples site : http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/unix...pletemysql.html You can also find good information at http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/ Good luck and have fun with it.
Guest Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 doing the same here - running a local copy on one of my Macs under OS X and testing everything before moving it to the production server I highly recommend marcs site at http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/ the only thing you should need to install is mysql - php and apache should already be installed, but if not, follow the excellent instructions at www.entropy.ch for php and mysql and you will be on your way
Guest Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 I develop locally on my Mac too. Jeff - just looked at your firewire depot site. very nice! looks great in safari with the matching brushed aluminium look.
Guest Posted July 22, 2003 Posted July 22, 2003 thank you - we continue to work on it and tweak it....
Justin Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 Since you guys are talking about osCommerce on Mac OS X, I thought I would let you know about the announcement of a new osCommerce installation guide for Mac OS X: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=203326 The contents of the announcement are also included below. Cheers, Justin =========== Although it has been many months (almost a year?) since I originally discussed my plans for a Mac OS X installation guide, it is now complete and ready for public consumption: http://www.macservers.org/feature-4.html This is a step-by-step tutorial that covers the installation of osCommerce 2.2 MS2 on Mac OS X, and no prior knowledge is assumed other than the required reading listed in the links at the top of the page. While this guide was put together specifically for Mac OS X users, people using Linux or other UNIX variants may also find it useful. There really are no Mac-specific steps, except for things like the location of the web server root. Just my way of giving back to the osCommerce community. Hope you find it helpful!
