Parse error after changing Copyright info in Footer

Parse error: parse error in /home/u4/freenews4me/html/catalog/includes/languages/english.php on line 79

I keep getting the above error after changing the english.php files copyright info. to reflect my own name, but have left the "Powered By" info alone. I have been careful not to add any extra spaces or characters and still can not figure out why I'm getting the error.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Take a look at the includes/languages/english.php.

Look for FOOTER_TEXT_BODY.

The problem is in there.

THe code is complaining about line 79, will need to see the entire file.

you will also notice that all of your boxes are wrong. so I would bet it is somewhere around the line 79 since the BOXES are set in that area.

I am very confused now.

I just replaced the entire english.php file and my whole site is performing fine now, but everytime I change the copyright info at the bottom I get the error message.

Do you have the older one (english.php)

There was obviously a typo in it somewhere. typically this is a missing quote or something like that.

You have to escape ' inside a pair of '', otherwise it thinks that you are ending the string.

Am I to be modifying files through Admin or going through Includes or does it matter?

I made Matt's change by going through catalog>includes>languages>english.php file and I received a parse error after doing so.

When I want back to the same file the '' was gone, but I had to cut and paste a saved version of english.php in order to get rid of the error.

Am I modifying files in the wrong area and by some freak accident my page is actually working?
