hi all, i stumbled onto oscommerce via ipowerweb's ecommerce package and after playing around i really fell in love with it. so i decided to install it for my little motorcycle store online.

well i'm a half ass programmer so i thought i'd be able to get over with most of problems. but this one really drives me nuts.

When i created a new category and try to update its icon image. no matter what i try it kept saying "image does not exist". what's the proper syntax to upload images? i tried both "/catalog/images/new.gif" and tried to browse from my local C: drive and also just "new.gif" image. but none worked.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

When youcreate a new catogory, there should be a button that allows you to upload an image that will be associated with that category. When youselect the New Category button, on the right you should see an entry ox for category image...

Do you see this...?

... and you clicked and browsed to a local image file on your PC, then selected SAVE.... and you dont have an image associated with the new category...?

If this is the case, then I'm sorry but we'll have to wait until an expert comes along... but at least we have established what you should be doing. This works for me though!

hi john, yes that's what i have, but even after i clicked on "save" button still nothing happened. i work from my laptop and config the catalog via my weber server's www interface. the program didn't upload the image. so i tried to upload the file manually to images dir and then type in the file name (also tried path, path with server name etc) but none worked. still saying image does not exist. i also tried to give the category an icon from existing sample files but failed too! i'm going nuts...
