Guest Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 Hey, newer to these forums. Well I am a web developer in Chicago, IL. I have been planning this for a while, but I dont know if anyone would need such a thing. I would code a dreamweaver extension, so that you could build a website in sections, and you would be able to customize the layout with knowing little code (please keep in mind you'll still have to know basics of PHP). Heres and example: You want to place the search box somewhere on a page you have created. Well you would go to the dreamweaver extention OsCommerce_searchbox, and it would insert the search box, customizable from there. Dont know if anyone is interested in this idea. Please let me know what you would think of something such as this. Quote
Morbantokk Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 dreamweaver is a great tool to create websites. but in combination with oscommerce it isn?t really useful. for this fact i think it would be great to have an extension like you plan!! do it ;) Quote WAR is not the answer!
Guest Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 You hit it right with that one mate. I use Dreamweaver for most of my web work, but when it comes to OSC, I use nothing but Notepad ;0) Being able to mess with OSC through Dreamweaver would make my life a lot easier. I'm looking forward to your mod! Quote
blueline Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 You don't really need a mod. I use nothing but dreamweaver, and I specialize in osC programming. All you need to do is use Dreamweaver MX, set up a site, and go at it. Granted you will need to have PHP, mySQL, and some sort of server installed....but that's it. I have never had a smoother programmin enviroment with osCommerce....EVER. Just my 2 cents. Quote Chris Sullivan
shaky Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 osCommerce -> Dreamweaver extension?? You've got to be kidding, that would be (one of) the best ideas ever! :) Quote
nurmaln Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 there are a LOT of people that could really use that (myself included), when can we expect to see it? Quote

And if you get it certified by Macromedia, just think what a boost that would be toward getting osC into the e-commerce software mainstream, considering how many people visit Macromedia Exchange! Excellent idea. Good luck. Cheers, Stretchr Quote "It's a small world... But I wouldn't want to paint it!" Stephen Wright
