peloke Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 Is there an easy way to allow any user to use the 'add product' functionality in the admin module but not allow them to do anything else such as add or delete catagories, etc? I just want to allow them to enter products for sale. Thanks, Eddie

Guest Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 The problem is that it tries to use admin functionality in the catalog area. One ends up with one of several solutions. Move things that are currently only available in admin into the catalog area, which can be a security hole (and can interfere with catalog files). Allow customers to reach a page that is in the admin area, which can be a security hole. Create a new area with some admin functionality that customers can reach, which is wasteful. Personally, I go with number three. YMMV. This whole thing should be easier once MS4 rolls around, because it includes merging the admin and catalog tools to share logic and functionality. Of course, that's two Milestones away yet. Good luck, Matt
