theMusicMan Posted July 18, 2003 Posted July 18, 2003 Hi All I have managed to figure out the 'download' product/file feature within osC but I have a question related to it. I'm sure that anyone who had files for sale would only allow the actual downloading of the file once payment had been received yeah? So, if for example, an option for payment is cheque, how do you not allow the customer to download a file he/she has just purchased until payment has been received...? This would work for cc or pp payments as this is immediate, but for cheque a customer could potentially download the file and decide not to pay :( :( How has anyone gotten around this issue...? thanks John
Guest Posted July 18, 2003 Posted July 18, 2003 You will have to change the status of the order in the Admin section to accomplish this. The customer will recieve an email to allow them to log back in to download the file(s).
Guest Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 This doesnt answer the question though. I have the same issue. I offer software to download but when you use the check option it takes you to the download page. I have checks marked as pending in admin but that doesnt stop it. I need to allow people to pay by check but obviously there is no way to stop them from downloading without paying. Thoughts??

maansy Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 i downloaded the mod, the Readme.txt is so poor. it doesnt have instructions on how to edit the existing files, i have several mods installed and i cant just replace the existing files with the ones included with this mod. where can i find instruction on how to install this mod? thanx in advance
chfields Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 If you can't get the instructions, you may try using a program that compares files, so you can find out the differences. I don't know if that will work or not. Just an idea.............
maansy Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 ok, i had to fresh install MS2 just to test this mod and see if it does really work or not. i installed it no problem, but members still can download no matter if the status is pending or processing or delivered. so any of you figured out this matter, plz help here. BTW, i have the download status on Defult=Pending. the files are CHMOD right. thanx
maansy Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 i got everything for download sort out great, after trying so many times and in so many ways i got it to work, so if anyone needs help with it plz ask. i have only one Q.: when i go to Admin area >> Reports >> Products Purchased i see at the top of the page: Warning: No file uploaded. eventhough there is a file uploaded and i can download it, also there is a picture for that file , so i dont understand why do i get that warning? any help appreciated thanx in advance

According to provided instructions, I configured the database and all the files according to the provided instructions but I get this error, when a user place an order. 1054 - Unknown column 'orders_status_id' in 'field list' insert into orders_status_history (orders_id, orders_status_id, date_added, customer_notified, comments) values ('1270', '2', now(), '1', '') [TEP STOP] Please help me. My download controller version 5 is working fine. Now When I try to use 5.3 I get this error. Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.
maansy Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 hmm some thing has to do with the order status id. how many order status id do you have. and What is your configs for the download feature in your admin area?
