I'm new at this and I'm sure these answeres are here in the forum somewhere but doing a search did not get me much to look at and I can't possibly browse the 6 hundred-something pages...

My hosting service provides osCommerce, MySQL server, and phpMyAdmin. I downloaded Easy Populate. My trouble is trying to import a flat file.

Using EasyPopulate, I followed the instructions to download the blank database file to my computer, input my own information, save and upload the file again. The first item in the 250 item file will import without a problem. The other 249 items say that they are imported on the EZPop screen. I took that same 250 item file, deleted the first item that imported correctly and did it again. It took the first item in the file again so now there are 2 items in my database. Only the first item appears in the store under the correct category. The other item does not show.

I went directly to the osCommerce control panel and manually input a test item. It shows up in the store but not under any category heading, only under "what's new".

Trying to access the information using phpMyadmin shows all 3 items, the 2 imorted and the manually imported "test" item.

All my categories are created, there are 6. The flat file has the items' categories listed, case sensitive.

What am I doing wrong? Why can't I import more than 1 item at a time using EZpopulate?

Also, I noticed in the original file I downloaded before inputting my own information, there was not a column for "manufacture". I manually input several manufacturers thru the osCommerce control panel. Is there a way to import a "manufacturer" and a "category" flat file? I have over 200 manufacturers and some 150 sub-categories to input.
