darkangel
I have being trying to install the new copy of MS2 into my server. The first 2 procedures work fine, but when I try to upload the oscommerce.sql file it says that is not there. This is what I get on the second procedure: A test connection made to the database was successful. Please continue the installation process to execute the database import procedure. It is important this procedure is not interrupted, otherwise the database may end up corrupt. The file to import must be located and named at: /install/oscommerce.sql After I click CONTINUE, I get this message: The following error has occurred: SQL file does not exist: /install/oscommerce.sql I am using Yahoo as my webhosting, does anyone have a clue on how to fix that? I am struggling here for days. I appreciate the help in advance. Dark
Guest
This is a known bug. You can work around it by running the SQL commands separately (with mysql, phpMyAdmin, etc.) and then running the install without importing the catalog database. Good luck, Matt
darkangel
I have php admin running on the server, but I don't know how to do it manually. Any help with that? I am sort of a newbie and It would be great if you could help me out or anyone in detail how to do it manually. Thanks!
Guest
Start phpMyAdmin. Select your database (the default name is catalog, but you may picked another when you installed). Click on SQL. Click browse next to the Location of Textfile box. Select the oscommerce.sql file (you may have to download a copy from your server first so that you have it). Click Go. This might work differently in some situations (e.g. in a shared environment, you might not have to select your database), so you might have to be flexible. darkangel
I did it as you instructed, but the only thing I get is. No SQL query! then nothing shows. Only a box where you could type, and something where it says.. "location of texfile (browse). If I keep doing it, it does the same thing... The file that I am uploading or browsing for is in the OSCommerse MS2/ catalog/install/oscommerce.sql Is there any other way to do it? Please help!
