admin cost price question

was just wondering...actually hoping if it was possible to add a cost price box when filling in the details of a product. this box not to be displayed on the website, for my reference only. if its possible how would i do it?

You need to edit the admin/categories.php file a fair bit and also add an extra field in the Products table of your database.

Then in admin/includes/languages/english/categories.php

 

Add in the following line

 

define('TEXT_PRODUCTS_COST_PRICE', 'Products Cost Price:');

 

In your database run the following line of sql

 

ALTER TABLE `products` ADD `products_cost_price` INT DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL;

 

or manually add a 'field' at the end of your products if you prefer.

 

This should be it! now when you create/edit a product you can input a cost price aswell, only you will see it.

 

Back up all the files before you start!!!

 

admin/categories.php

admin/includes/languages/english/categories.php

and your database!!!!

Hi Rumble,

I've used you're code and it all works fine. There's only a "little" problem that I can't resolve.........HELP?!

If I use a dot or comma everything after the dot/comma isn't saved.....

Somebody knows how to solve this?
