PaulK Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 When I try to install milestone 2 to test, the step that runs oscommerce.sql says that the file must be /install/oscommerce.sql. The install wouldn't proceed until I actually did create a directory at the root called /install. Surely this can't be right. I have searched for this as a bug report, but I haven't found anything. Has anyone else experienced this? I am 80% done with my milestone 1 store so I am fairly comfortable with osCommerce. Honestly I am not extremely concerned about this issue because I have decided to finish the store with milestone 1 and upgrade after these issues calm down. Still, if this is causing other folks problems, it would be nice to get it fixed. Thanks, Paul
TimP Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 I have experienced the same problem, I had to manualy setup the configure.php file, but thats know fix. tim
Guest Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 the install folder is in the catalog folder! Maybe you miss something during installation, here is a step by step installation guide http://wiki.oscommerce.com/helpInstallNew HTH The_Bear
BlasterCalm Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 No, it's not an error, it's coming from the script. I have exactly the same problem Here is my install screen New Installation Database Import A test connection made to the database was successful. Please continue the installation process to execute the database import procedure. It is important this procedure is not interrupted, otherwise the database may end up corrupt. The file to import must be located and named at: /usr/install/oscommerce.sql
PaulK Posted July 15, 2003 Author Posted July 15, 2003 My apologies. I just searched again and I see that this is a reported bug. Thanks guys for helping to confirm I am not crazy. Well... :D BlasterCalm, thanks for your reply. It is interesting to see that the path it is looking for on your system is different than on mine. I am going to add a comment to the bug report with a link to this thread. Maybe that will help the team figure this one out. Thanks again. Paul
BlasterCalm Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Yes but so far I could not find how to solve this. Can you point me to the solution, thanks.
PaulK Posted July 15, 2003 Author Posted July 15, 2003 The easiest way around this will be to run the oscommerce.sql script yourself. Just log into your database in mysql and run the script. After you do that, you should be able to run the install screens. Just uncheck the box that asks if you want to make the database changes. The box that says: Import Catalog Database: Hope this helps.
