configure.ini permissions

okay cant get past the permission levels of step 7 in the installation routine.

 

didnt move or delete or touch any files

 

but did change the permissions on both permissions to 706 and 777 for botht the configure.ini files in

 

catalog/includes

and

admin/includes

 

 

what else should I try?

You should also chmod 777 /catalog/images

 

Also the regular install expects the following diretory structure for the configure.php files:

 

/catalog/includes/configure.php

/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php

 

It may be easier to follow this structure during the initial install. Then you may rename or move the /admin directory and its children later. Taking care of course to make the appropriate changes in the admin/includes/configure.php file

 

after the install chmod the configure.php files to 644

okay I chmod 644 both configure.php after sucessful install

 

catalog/includes/configure.php

catalog/admin/includes/configure.php

 

now the images do not appear on the catalog website.

 

what can fix this?

 

also changed images dir chmod to 777
