What is the difference between SEO Name Redirects and SEO Redirects, and is there a reason to have both installed.?

If i want to change the sales page URL to for eg, specials, will one of these apps above allow me to do it ?

SEO Redirect is more common app, SEO Name Redirects linked to to categories, brands, pages and products and allows you use the more than one URL.

Could you provide more details?

SEO Redirect usage:

1. You had a specials page on your old site with name https://your-site.com/specials -products.php

2. SEO Redirect can redirect this link to the page used in osCommerce v4: https://your-site.com/sales

I want to be able to do the opposite. I want to take my-site.com/sales and rename it to my-site.com/specials-products.php

This is possible for some pages but not all. eg sales and reviews

Unfortunately, these SEO modules cannot do such things.

The core code allows you to do it for some pages, but not others which I find strange (incomplete almost).

Also tied to this is the ability to give each page unique page titles. Some pages are less important from a SEO point of view, but they are still important for the end user experience.
