Hello all,

I am currently evaluating OSC4. I ran into a problem with navigation, out of all of my imported categories only 7 are displayed.

I have no idea how to distiguish which categories are displayed and which are excluded. Can you kindly point me into the right direction ?

Thanks,

Chris.

Yes. Despite all checkboxes (categories enabled and display on home page) being ticked.

I found that if I import the categories first, and then import the products, it works, however as soon as I save the categories in the menu section, all categories are gone again except for one. Tried two different servers (both php 8, one local, one of our provider). Tried manually creating categories, same thing.

For evaluation, I am now proceeding with my workaround, but this looks like a bug to me.

Kind regards,

Chris

I can't get the categories to show either. It is very difficult and inadequately done. In old versions 2,3 it was user friendly and easy. I'm about to give up now.

Hi Chris,

What version of osCommerce4 you are using? (Admin->App Shop->System update)

Check these options in the menu:

Hey Pandrei,

sorry for the delayed response - I am still struggeling with OSC4, currently altering the code to make it work for me.

I work around this problem by creating 7 or less top level categories, under which I now present my imported categories / products. I have noticed that in the current build the menus don´t get distorted when I change the categories order, which is definetly an improvement.

Kind regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for flagging this. My categories have ‘disappeared’ as well.

Previously my home page showed everything as I wanted including sub categories etc. However since the new upgrade most of these have gone.

I’ll have to try to and work it, all are ticked to show for everyone.

Very strange!

Yeah,

So the workaround I've used is to leave the existing Menu structure as it is.

Then under Products/Brands simply copy the category to Top. It goes from the subcategory, but the Menu structure still active.

This recreates the category on front page again, HOWEVER NOT the subcategories!
