jschner
After hitting "confirm order" I get the following error: Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/maslanik/public_html/shop/includes/functions/database.php on line 440 - select code, title, symbol_left, symbol_right, decimal_point, thousands_point, decimal_places, value from currencies After the error I'm locked out of accessing anything with OSC for about 10 minutes. When it starts to work again my item is still in the cart and I can go through the whole checkout process just fine. Try to instantly make another order and again after hitting confirm order I get the same error message again and can't asscess OSC for 10 or so minutes. I can get into ADMIN. I tried the fix as recommended by bear here: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php...qllink+resource It fixes the problem but creates a new problem as in some orders in the database get their currency_value written as "0" instead of "1" and the invoices, emails and admin show orders as $0 in price, subtotal, shipping, and total. The shop is live located at edited Shared host running php 4.3.1 (Zend: 1.3.0) Apache/1.3.27 (Unix) mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.0 PHP/4.3.1 FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 mod_ssl/2.8.14 OpenSSL/0.9.6b MYSQL 4.0.13 Should I submit this as a bug? Anything in MS2 that could address this issue? I love OSC but I can't get it to operate at 100%. I have been trying to fix the above problems going on a month now. But being an expert at PHP and Mysql is just not my bag yet. Should I consider moving on to another cart system? Any recommendations? Jim
Guest
Why did you start another thread?.... those that help you previously will see you require further help if you post in the same thread. You have used a snapshot.... you are warned that you may have problems... you cannot submit a bug report for a snapshot that has gone on to release as MS2.... I would suggest that you compare your file in question with the file in the MS2 release
Guest
Looking at this question further - what payment module is being used when you hit 'confirm order'?...... the ten minutes sounds like there is a serious loop in your code somewhere.
jschner
Sorry for the new thread. I now realize themy other thread and one I had going a month ago are related now. I started a new thread because it ties them together into one and cleans up some mis-information like myy host is NOT running in Safe Mode is one of them. Plus since i realized i never really got OC running correctly I thought maybe I was in the wrong area. I apologize and will paste results onto those threads if a cure is found. Payment modules are UPS, Check / money order and COD. I have tried all three and can't get past the confirm order every other time. When I say every other time it is every other time I get the error message and locked out of OSC. I currently have the database.php file mod going as it's the lesser of the two problems. I have PM'ed the orignal person on the mod a few times and again tonight but got no word if his mod is still working. It seems very few have this same problem. I downloaded MS1 again and tried a new install but same thing. I really appreciate the the help and apologize for my limited knowledge on these things. I'm trying. :? jschner
I had the website at cdaleparts.com moved to a new server with the same host and I haven't noticed any problems yet. I'm able to make orders without any script errors which is a great sign. If I was the ony person who had this problem I'd just say my host had some type of corrupted setup but because I found the guy back in the forums who had the same problems with a different host there must be some type of obscure setup that OSC doesn't like. The only significant thing my host can see differnet is the old server was running php 4.3.1 and the new one is running php 4.3.2. Blame my host or put this in as unknown. Thanks for everyones help.
