it would seem i am having the same issue so can someone please let me know where this wildcard redirect needs changing please?

Mine was a redirect in cpanel that was sending everythng to the default store.   I worked with my hosting service and they corrected it and setup the symlink to work.  In the end we didn't use it and were able to accomplish our needs another way.
