I wanted to try the Oscommerce API to do import / export tests and I found this guide:

But I can't find the configuration in the admin panel.
How can I activate/configure them?

API is still unusable (and undocumented). Even a primitive example of source code - how to add a new product/category via the API would be enough... but it isn't. API is only at a theoretical level.

I think it is an indispensable component for oScommerce. It seems strange to me that it isn't already present given that the entire platform is essentially Powerful Commerce.

Yeah, that's a shame. This app has big potential. But when such a basic part is missing (API), it's all useless.

SOAP is a stupid outdated technology with many fundamental problems.
Only a madman uses it for new projects.

It is just an old name of a app. It was one developed as a SOAP module. Now it works using REST technology.

I do not understand. Why doesn't it have the correct title/description?

Anyway, without API is the whole Oscommerce v4 useless.

We'll do it soon. Maybe we'll add both APIs, maybe only RestServer.

RestServer has API for import/export data.

If you want to synchronize data with another osCommerce v4 site, it is possible with RestServer + RestClient apps.

If you want to synchrinize data with other e-commerce systems, it depends on the second system and the direction of synchronization.

I received this error when installing the REST Server.

@pandrei I installed the API but when I open easypopulate I get an error page. Solution?

Could you send me the log files (Admin->Settings->Tools->Error log viewer->Download all)?

No, the RestServer app provides our API for osCommerce v4
