mendoh
The following modifications have been performed on a standard WATCH OSCV4 original theme. After creating two new product categories, each one with a subcategory (with one product each) and turning off all the default sample categories that were initially present, as shown in this picture: the whole homepage layout is mangled without even touching the "Themes/Customize" button, as follows: 1) the new categories with their subcategories and products do not show up on the website homepage 2) only two products show up while all products were actually showing before turning off the above sample categories 3) the "featured products" tab which was present before turning off the sample categories has disappeared 4) the "discount products"tab which was present before turning off the sample categories has disappeared 5) all the sample products belonging to sample categories have disappeared and will not return even if their respective sample categories are turned back on again 6) the "Best Seller" product list on homepage has disappeared. All the new categories plus their subcategories are actually present and enabled in all the menus where they should be present. Anybody has ANY idea WHY all the above is happening, despite the very latest OSCV4 version? Thank you

To get the categories show you need to go to "Design & CMS" -> "Menus" and then add the menus to the Main category. The layout should then work (hopefully).. Best Seller will disappear as you have no sold products. Give this a go, hopefully sorts most your issues

Unfortunately, this issue appears to be not so easy to solve. Both categories and subcategories are actually right there where they should: besides, the Audio and Video recorders category+subcategories were there already, along with the theme sample categories and everything was showing correctly. Then, I added the audio surveillance microphones+subcategories and turned off the theme sample categories; as soon as I did that, the following happened: Trying to re-enable the turned-off categories does not restore the previous layout. Even more puzzling, the categories and subcategories I added do show at breadcrumb or header level in homepage, however, as soon as you click on them, they will not show any products, despite at least one product per subcategory is actually present and enabled. I am afraid this issue lies deeper at OSCV4 system core and someone from the new owners would need to check and say what that might be... Anybody has ANY idea WHY all the above is happening, despite the very latest OSCV4 version? Thank you Hi Mendoh, Please see my comments below regarding yours. 1. We can see the new categories. Please see the screenshot below. 2. 2 products are displayed under the tab "New Products" since these 2 products are indeed the new ones only. For example Advanced HD spy is displayed since this product is considered to be the new on up to 15. October 2023. Please see the screenshot below. If the date in the highlighted field is in the past already the product will not be considered as the new one any longer. 3. There are no featured products at the moment that is why "Featured Products" tab is not displayed either. Please see the screenshot below. Once you have at least one featured product this tab will be displayed again. 4. The same as in the point above. There are no sales prices on your products that is why the "Discount Products" tab is not displayed either. Please see the screenshot below. 5. If you switch off the category all the products belonging to this category will be switched off as well. If you switch on this category back the products in this category will not be switched on back automatically so you will need to switch them on manually. 6. If your products are not sold there will not be any best sellers among them so the "Best Seller" product list will not show up. Hi Mendoh, Please see my post above regarding the issues mentioned in this post. Regarding "Trying to re-enable the turned-off categories does not restore the previous layout." please see point 5 in my post above. Regarding "Even more puzzling, the categories and subcategories I added do show at breadcrumb or header level in homepage, however, as soon as you click on them, they will not show any products, despite at least one product per subcategory is actually present and enabled." in the category Audio surveillance microphones all the products in all the subcategories are switched off. But in the category Audio and video recorders all the products are switched on so they are displayed. Please see the screenshot below. Regarding "Missing new category", for example in the category Audio and video recorders the option Show on home page is switched on. Please see the screenshot below. That is why it is displayed on the front end. But this option is switched off on the category Audio surveillance microphones. Please see another screenshot below. So it is not displayed on the front end. Best regards, Ivan mendoh

Best regards, Ivan Dear Ivan, once again, MANY thanks for pointing me out. The truly massive number of OSCV4 features and options got me lost once again: I totally overlooked the "show on homepage" switch and after following your instructions, categories and subcategories are now showing up correctly. One more question if you do not mind: would you please remind me where to specifiy the stock quantity for each added product? So far I could only use the "unlimited stock" switch. Thanks again and keep up the good work! Mendoh
