Hi Jim,

Yes, I'm be interested to know more, however, my site is a long way from implementing this.

Boy, I'm certainly getting educated this morning, what with the Google Merchant Center, Schema Markup and Microsoft Clairity!!...  :)

Yeah, I've been in the ecommerce world a long time.  Like since 1998 in one way or another and full time with my own site since 2000.  These are all tools in the last couple of years that passed me by.  I went way too long on zencart and reached a point of not being able to update so I looked back to OSC that I had used "back in the day".  I think we have a great engine here, and development seems to be continuing.  The team is way beyond my ability to help with coding, but I can sure find problems :).

Those 3 tools are very powerful and I think would be a relatively easy add-on for he right programmer.  With so many changes coming in the next release I cant see them getting added.  But merchant center could be fixed with just a couple of small changes, and I think they may be in place in the update.

Schema and clarity could be hard coded into the product pages but I don't have the time to get it done as I'm more than full time running my shop.

Has anyone successfully integrated google merchant center with OSCommerce?  Im getting lots of errors on crawl

Are you referring to Google shopping? If so, have you installed the google feeder addon. That is all that is needed. Though I don't recall what version of oscommerce the released version will work with but I think the majority of them. if you are getting errors with using that addon, please post them in the support thread.

The add on is not for the current version.  It's the merchant center now.

I'm sorry but I still don't understand what you mean by "merchant center". Unless you are meaning something else, the Merchant Center is a site on google where you set up your google shopping products. The free version of the google feeder may not work in your oscommerce version but I have a number of clients that use it.

This post is within the V4 version of the forum.  So it can be safely assumed that we are discussing the V4 version.  I'm happy you have a number of clients using the add on, but it is not applicable to this version, nor this discussion.  Your link is to a post from 20 years ago.  Which I was actually a part of back then.  Thank you for you attempting to help though.

Just thought I'd post from my original account for reference.

This page mentions setting some fields google shopping needs. It might get you started. When you are looking for something specific to V4, it is usually best to mention one of the oscommerce team since that would give you a better chance of getting an answer.

Yes.  The problem is that weight needs to display on the product page, and v4 has no provision to do that.  I'm told the next release will have that capability.  It also had problems with item ID if you have the same ID, or in my case MPN shown on multiple products.  Since it uses URL to determine a unique product, the same ID on different URLS creates canonical errors also.  There is also no singular export within osc to get all the data google merchant center uses to create a feed should you try to upload one.
I eventually used multiple exports and merged the data to create a google sheets feed.  Its not a crawl, and so not real-time but did get our products listed.  Since I have nearly a thousand products, it was pretty critical I found a method to feed them in quantity rather than singularly.

Also, since Markup Schema requires the field formatted in specific ways, it is not feeding that data either.

My products do now show using the google sheets feed, so I am working, just not the most efficient way.

Anyone know how to have product condition sent over to google via the Merchant Center Extension? I have the box checked in the extension settings however Google is still picking up all products as new. There is no where to select a condition when adding a product, so I created a property with "New" "Used" "Open Box" etc., however, Google is still not picking those up.

My other question: Where can I manually edit the code for the extension? My other idea is to change one of the fields in the extension settings (color for example) and rename that to condition, and then map it to my condition property that I created. Does anyone know what the location of the extension files are? Hopefully there is a place that I can easily edit that out. Granted, it seems in V4 the PHP is a lot more vague and pulled from multiple sources rather than just one easy to read file.
