Hi Lorraine,

The compare products looks like it is built in and ready to go on all of the themes that ship with OSC4 default.  You will just need to set up the product properties which will be displayed on the comparison page.  These properties can be additionally displayed on the product detail page too by toggling the view option.

The comparison feature can be activated from the categories page by selecting more than one product.

In the furniture theme, the check box will only appear when you hover over the product - In the print shop theme it is visible all the time.

After you select more than one product, a "view" link will appear next to each check box - click this link to go to the comparison page.

You can compare products from different categories too as the selection is stored in the users cookies I believe.

Select 1 Product (No view link)

Select a second product (View link appears)

On the print shop theme, compare checkbox is always visible in the categories

The properties displayed on the comparison page are configure for each product on the properties TAB

Thank you for replying on this issue.

I'm using a modified Watch Theme.

I have a Comparison page, there is also a Compare button and Widget, however I've yet to see a select button near the products. I have Attributes images installed, Attributes details is downloaded, that's all I know. I'm confused by the properties buttons.

Thank you for your examples unfortunately none of these are my theme.

It would maybe be helpful if I could see a select button near a product but none!

So are you saying I have to do something in properties to get this to show?

Thanks for trying to help ...

OOPS!

Ahha!

If I select the middle product display option I get a Select to Compare option?

If I tick this then no other button appears, I've tried adding the Compare button widget but again there are no products on the Compare page when I click it despite selecting a few.

Hmmm!

Okay!

By accident I’ve finally discovered how to get this to work. In products go to the Categories tab and switch the FILTERS on!

Once I did this instantly the category filters I’d chosen appeared above each category with products below.

Also showing is the select box for each product. Now when I select two or more the View button appears and I can now COMPARE!

Thank you for the reply above, I therefore presume that adding product properties will now make comparisons meaningful.

Volia! It’s all there ready to work but until I used the category filters on product nothing happened.

This has killed two birds with one stone as I couldn’t work out how to get category filters working either!

Great! It all works!
