Like having a product variable that defines 'product type' and that affects the definition of information in a related array? Ex: One product has type 'Book' which has the qualities of 'No. of Pages,' 'Author' and 'book type' (hardcover, softcover, etc.) Another product has type 'Dvd' which has the qualities of 'Movie Length,' 'Director' and 'movie type' (action, documentary, etc.) Can't seem to find anything like this, so I figured I'd ask. ;) Thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted July 11, 2003 Share Posted July 11, 2003 Entering the product is fairly easy as you can add those fields in admin. I am trying to do something similar in that when i go to add the items in admin, if i chosse the books category I want it to display the general fields or all items, plus the specific fields pertinent to each category - a big headache. The biggie is to get the catalog to be smart about the category so that if in books then the display list is picture, prod desc, author, etc or as applicable to each category.
